Classes are available on an individual and group basis. Multiple classes will be scheduled throughout the year, but if you miss one, feel free to contact me and we can meet at your convenience. Materials will be provided for all classes.

*Please note that pricing will be different for each scheduled location due to percentage cuts. I sincerely aim to be fair to myself and the student in price.*

•Sheep to Shirt: Fiber Identification, Processing Fibers, Carding Fibers, Spinning Yarn with a Spindle, Kettle Dyeing Yarn, Knitting a Tiny Shirt

Class 1. Learn what each natural fiber looks and feels like and how to process fibers on a small scale hands-on and visually, as well as card it on a drum carder.

Class 2. Learn how to ply two commercial yarns together to get the feel of spinning before diving into make a single strand of yarn from roving wool. Learn technical terms, proper storage, and what to do next.Take home yarn, wool, and your spindle!

Class 3. By controlling our hot water, acid dyes, vinegar and your hand-spun yarn, we’ll marble and muddy beautiful colors together to make your skein a unique dye lot!

Class 4. With your 30-50 hand-carded, hand-spun, hand-dyed wool we will learn to knit a tiny sweater. Perfect for any pet cactus, ferret, or drinking glass!                                                             (4 classes, 2 hours each) $150

•Fiber Identification: Learn how to identify many different animal and plant fibers and their properties. We will go over the many tools needed and quite a bit of vocabulary. Take some fiber home with you! (2 hours) $35

•Mason Jar Dyeing: Learn a very basic way to dye fibers with natural and commercial dyes. Take home your own dyed fiber and mason jars! (2 hours) $35

• Carding Fibers: Learn 3 different ways to card your fibers to prepare them for spinning into yarn or for felting. Take home your carded fiber! (1 hours) $35

•Spindle Spinning: Learn how to ply two commercial yarns together to get the feel of spinning before diving into make a single strand of yarn from roving wool. Learn technical terms, proper storage, and what to do next.Take home yarn, wool, and your spindle! (2 hours) $35

•Knitting: Five different tutorials are available and are designed for building skill. Learn to knit wrist-warmers, a headband, a cabled cuff with buttons, a striped intarsia hat, or a tiny shirt. Take home your needles, yarn, and knitted piece! (2 hours) $25

•Crochet: Choose from over five tutorials ranging from jewelry to wearable pieces. Learn basic stitches with repetitive pattern repeats. Take home your crochet hook, yarn and crocheted piece! (2 hours) $20

•Beginner Spinning: Have a spinning wheel that you don’t know how to use? Bring it with you and learn to ply two different colored commercial yarns together before making a single strand of yarn with roving wool. Learn the parts, proper maintenance, and storage of your wheel. Take home a beautiful skein of your own unique yarn! (3 hours) $60
